New AADSM President Brings Wealth of Knowledge to Leadership Role

(LISLE) June 5, 2020 – David Schwartz, DDS, was recently installed as president of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) – the leading national organization for dentists who treat sleep-related breathing disorders. He began his two-year term during the AADSM’s membership meeting on May 29.

“Dr. Schwartz is devoted to the well-being of his patients and is a strong advocate of dentists and physicians working together on behalf of their patients with sleep-related breathing disorders,” said outgoing AADSM president Dr. Nancy Addy. “I know that he will be an excellent leader for the Academy at this important time in our history.”

“During my presidency, I will work with our Board of Directors, committees and staff to develop and implement strategies and policies that will ensure that qualified dentists are best positioned to help meet the public burden of OSA,” said Dr. Schwartz. “The AADSM will work tirelessly on behalf of its members to develop resources that help them both build and strengthen referring relationships. In this ever-evolving COVID-19 world, we will also look to create educational resources that help our members evolve their practices.”

Dr. Schwartz started his general restorative dental practice in the Chicago area in 1988 and became a member of the AADSM in 1998. While he practices many fields of dentistry, he has had a focus in dental sleep medicine for the last 22 years. He started the dental component of The Center for Sleep Medicine in the Chicagoland area locations, where he is currently director of dental sleep medicine. Dr. Schwartz has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine since 2006. He brings a wealth of experience to the dental sleep community, has educated dentists around the world on the benefits of dental sleep medicine and has served on numerous AADSM committees and task forces.
