The AADSM and all organizations managed by or affiliated with the AASM will close Monday, Jan. 6 due to extreme and dangerous winter weather conditions that have shut down most businesses and schools in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. Following heavy winds and snow, temperatures are expected to reach dangerous below-zero temperatures, with wind chills estimated at minus 45 degrees. All organizations managed by or affiliated with the AASM will also close Monday, including the American Association of Sleep Technologists, the Sleep Research Society, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the Associated Professional Sleep Societies. The National Office is expected to reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 7, but a late start may be possible. Any further closures will be announced on the AADSM website.
If you live in any of the areas affected by this severe cold weather system, we advise you to check the website of your local authorities and stay indoors if necessary.
