This book represents the first compilation of its kind and is an important addition to the AADSM library and for those involved in Sleep Medicine as well as Dental Sleep Medicine. It encloses a thesis by Dr. Aarnoud Hoekema which focuses on clinical outcomes using oral appliance therapy and its comparison to nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). It provides information of interest to any and all healthcare professionals caring for patients with sleep disordered breathing. The general aim of this book is to evaluate the specific role of oral-appliance therapy in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
